Opening gateways into our community to communicate the love of Jesus through words and actions
“What an awesome place this is! It is none other than the house of God, the very gateway to heaven!”
Genesis 28:17

Who are we ?
We are a Christian Church and believe in one God who has revealed Himself through His Son Jesus. We trust that believing in Him and putting our faith in Him is the only way people can be reconciled with God.
We are a Community Church located in the heart of the community with a heart to serve and add value to our community in Jesus’ name.
We are a Vibrant and Welcoming Church and, although our services are less formal than in more traditional churches, we are serious about seeking and listening to God.
We are a Bible-believing Church and accept the Bible as God’s Word and therefore our final authority in all matters of life and faith. Our teaching involves looking at the Bible and its relevance to modern-day living.
We are an Evangelical Church and want to make known to as many people as possible the good news of salvation through Jesus.
We are a Pentecostal Church and believe that God’s Holy Spirit draws us to Jesus and gives us new life in Him. We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit, as described in the New Testament, are present-day gifts which empower and equip us for life and service and enable each of us, bit-by-bit, to become more like Jesus.
We are an Independent Church which is a member of a worldwide movement of churches known as the Assemblies of God

Children and Young People
Children and young people are very welcome at the Community Church whatever their age. We realise that there are many other demands on children’s time and that different families have different expectations so we try to be responsive to current need. This can include small group activities in another room during the teaching time in our services or “Sunday Gold” activity bags for younger children accompanied by a parent. We also make good use of presentation software during our teaching to try and ensure that it is as engaging as possible for different needs and ages.
Bible Besties is a small group for boys and girls currently aged between 11 and 14 and is designed for young Christians or young people who would like to learn more about the Christian faith. Activities include snacks, ice-breakers, Bible study and discussion, games, video, walks and prayer.
Meetings and Groups
We meet every Sunday at 10.30am and have various types of service throughout each month. We always include praise and worship, Bible teaching and preaching and usually a children’s talk. On the first Sunday of the month we share Holy Communion together and on the last Sunday we have an all-age service. Most of our services are streamed on our YouTube Channel.
Life Group: We currently meet fortnightly on Thursdays (termtime) at the home of two of our members. This includes Bible study, teaching, discussion and, of course, fellowship in a relaxed and homely setting.
Ferrytown Fellowship: Is a new group which meets fortnightly on Wednesdays (termtime), usually at the Bowling Club in Creetown. This is an informal cafe-style meeting.
Prayer: We have monthly prayer breakfasts on the first Saturday of most months but sometimes replace these with a half day of prayer and fasting. We also have a prayer text service for urgent prayer needs.
All are welcome to all of the above
Specific Men’s and Womens Groups
Essence is the name of our specific ministry for women. It was started as a means of women getting together so that they could support and encourage each other and has been appreciated not only by our own church ladies but by women from the local community and surrounding area. Essence usually meets on a Saturday morning in a local hotel and enjoy a lovely breakfast together before listening to a variety of women speakers. Women of all ages are most welcome to come along for a very informal and relaxing time. Essence meetings are publicised in advance by poster or on our Facebook page. Please ask if you’d like to be included in our circulation of information about these and other events, e.g. social events for ladies.
Friday Morning Prayers (ladies) Church ladies meet together for prayer most Fridays at 9:30 (except when there’s a Prayer breakfast the following morning) usually at the home of Alison Barratt or as publicised.
Some of our men oversee the TGB Shed Project which meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the grounds of the Mill on the Fleet. We also have occasional Men’s Breakfasts or other events.
Friday Morning Prayers (men) Men meet for prayer on Zoom at 8 a.m. each Friday morning (except Prayer Breakfast weeks)

A Church Gateway
We sometimes describe ourselves as a ‘gateway’ church. It starts with the wide-open gateway we have to God through His Son Jesus, and leads through all sorts of gateways of opportunity into our community as we communicate the love of Jesus through our words and actions!
An important part of this is TGB Gatehouse also known as The Gatehouse Bunker. TGB is a separate registered charity set up and supported by Gatehouse Community Church for the benefit of the community. It offers all sorts of social and volunteering opportunities for all ages and provides our members important opportunities to connect with and encourage our community.
TGB activities include Bunkeroo Junior and Senior (performing arts groups); Step Out (specifically aimed at widows and those living alone); TGB Young Leaders (volunteering scheme for young people) , TGB Futures (support with CVs, form-filling, interview preparation etc,) Musicality Tots (for carers and toddlers), The Shed Project, Summer Activities Programmes, Various Walking Football groups, other Community Events and The Wee Shop and Refill Centre at 1 High Street!
